CLAT is an acronym for the Common Law Admission Test, which is a national-level government entrance exam for admission to 22 national law universities in India. These scores are also used by most self-financed and private law schools in India for law school admissions.

Indian public sector companies, including Coal India, ONGC, BHEL, Indian Steel Authority, Oil India, and others, consider CLAT Postgraduate scores when filling their company’s legal positions. CLAT is conducted in law schools for admission to integrated U.G. programs after 12th grade or Higher Secondary Examination and for LLM (Law for Master of Laws) after graduation in law in law schools.
