NEET, which stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, is a national-level exam conducted for medical aspirants seeking admission to medical courses in various institutes across the country. As of 2020, NEET is the only medical entrance exam that qualifies students for admission to premier institutes such as AIIMS and JIPMER, replacing the multiple entrance exams previously held at state levels.

NEET was introduced by the Indian government as part of the One Nation One Examination policy, aimed at streamlining the admission process by replacing multiple exams with a single exam. The exam is conducted offline in pen-paper mode and is the only medical entrance exam at the undergraduate level to follow this format.
